YMCA Southeast Early Childhood Education Center

Very good and well-staffed family fun/fitness center in the heart of Southeast Huntsville. Just across the street from Weatherly Elementary, the family atmosphere is already present in the neighborhood and culture. Very nice and clean fitness and swimming facilities open to all families, as well as access to local youth sports leagues.

As a newcomer, I found the Y to be fantastic. I'm using the water aerobic exercises and the instructors are really helpful. The equipment in the work-out room is unbelievable. However, one orientation on the equipment was somewhat limited and the instructor was in a hurry. Going back into the workout room, I found that I was totally unprepared to use any of the machines with confidence. I couldn't even get the weight machines to work and was told by the controller for each machine to go back to the kiosk. I did that several times and finally gave up.
