My experience at Viva La Vogue was essentially traumatic. Prior to this hair cut, my hair was long and wavy- near the middle of my back. I went into the salon expecting 3-4 inches be taken off to get rid of spit ends. The young girl who cut my hair admitted to not having graduated yet from beauty school (which should have been my first red flag) and she didn't take the time to give me much of a consultation before diving right in and hacking my hair off. I had brought in a picture that I wanted my hair to resemble (it was an old picture of Miley Cyrus before she got a buzz cut- think long wavy layers) but in the end, I got shoulder-length hair- meaning she chopped off nearly 10 inches. (She had me turned around so I couldn't see how much she was cutting off until it was too late...) Aside from this being entirely NOT what I asked for, one side of my hair is longer than the other by a good inch/inch and a half or so. The girl blow dried and curled my hair so I left the salon looking like Shirley Temple and in total shock. My fiance and best friend are encouraging me to go in and request a more seasoned stylist fix the unevenness but honestly, I just don't want it to get any worse. Guess I'll be in hats for a while until it grows out. I should have stuck with Tera Lane Salon in Tuscaloosa. UPDATE: I went to a trusted stylist 2 weeks later to fix my hair and she told me I had split ends already! Apparently the girl at Viva la Vogue used a new technique they are teaching to force clients into the salons more often...
