Chris Tillman

I had ridden by the Lasting Impressions in Daleville on my way on and off post a few times and liked what I saw there...from the outside, the shop looked very clean. When I researched the shop on the web, most of the results I got were for the Dothan location. (I found out later that they had opened a 2nd location in Daleville) I was kicking around the idea of getting another tattoo, and I happened to be in Dothan, killing time on a 4-day weekend, when I remembered that there was a Lasting Impressions there. The Dothan location is somewhat tucked away in a tiny strip along side Ross Clark Circle, but don't let that dissuade you. My first impression of the shop was that it was clean and professional. The girl working the counter (I did not catch her name) was very friendly, and the overall ambiance made me feel welcome. I had the basis of an idea, I wanted something to commemorate my wife since it is our 5th anniversary next month, but I am no artist and can't draw worth a damn. I ended up talking to Chris Robinson. I tossed him my ideas, and he countered with a few suggestions and modifications. We agreed on what the basic elements would be, and the price was right, so I said "draw it up!" Really the only way to do it, IMO, unless you have your heart set on a specific design. He told me that he was finishing up another client, and it would take him a couple hours to draw up the design, and could I be back around 5pm? I showed back up at 1645 and he was not quite done with the drawing. He apologized, but I said that it was ok, as I would rather it be "slow and right, not rushed and wrong!" The design turned out better than I expected; I was highly impressed with Chris' artwork. We got started at around 1730ish. I was very impressed with Chris' professionalism, as well as his "bedside manner", as we were able to engage in conversation for most of the session without distracting him from his work. My session lasted about 4 hours, with two quick smoke breaks. The work was top notch, and I would heartily recommend anyone looking for a tattoo, whether it be their first or their hundredth, to check out Lasting Impressions!
