Howard Johnson Inn - Birmingham

It was 1 am on August 7th and apparently it's unheard of for people to get a hotel so late at night. Tried to call around 12 to make sure I could get a room, got no answer, booked with app, was told my reservation could not be found and that my app was wrong. Told girl at desk I tried to call, she laughed at me and said no one had called. Had to ring doorbell twice before any one came and when I told her I rang twice she called me a liar. She had a nasty attitude. The only thing she did right was point us to another hotel.

This room is awful. Dirty, nothing works -- phone, electrical outlets, door barely closes, can't use bathtub. Pulled out the chair to sit down and it looks like someone went to the bathroom on it, so got a towel to put down in the chair and the towel was all stained up. Would not recommend this place at all. It is advertised to have pillow top mattresses, but this room does not. The bed is all broken down.
