We were extremely dissatisfied with the room and how our complaints were handled by the front desk staff. We were assigned a room that had a horrible odor (and found odor eliminator packets attached inside the heater in the room). Upon asking the front desk night clerk about the odor, we were told the hotel had recently had a major water leak and the rooms next door to ours were being repaired. We were assured the odor in our room was not toxic but it could not be identified. No other rooms were available as the hotel was sold out and it was too late at night to find another hotel. There was also mold in the shower. Upon leaving the next morning, we inquired about a refund for having been given such a horrible room and received a lot of push back and excuses (was told the odor packets were standard in ALL Holiday Inns and being IHG members who regularly stay at Holiday Inn, we have never seen odor packets in any rooms previously). After checking out, we spent 2.5 hrs placing phone calls to IHG and eventually received a full refund. This should have been an easy fix to make a regular customer happy but rather, it turned into a horrible experience on several levels. If you choose this hotel, I'd ask if the water damage situation has been fixed.
The front desk staff were great and I have always enjoyed staying here. The rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet.
