It is unfortunate because I went to Dr. Herndon for my entire childhood and he is a great doctor. So when I moved back home after years away, I designated him my primary care physician.
The first time I got sick, I was out of town so I called and they referred me to a doctor where I was. Then, I had a negative reaction to one of the medications I got and had to return to the doctor. This time, the staff from Alexandria Medical Clinic refused to write me a referral because "I am not their patient." This despite having written one days before and BC/BS assuring me that it was okay and that they could write me one.
This literally resulted in me having to leave the clinic that I was at without being seen for the reaction to the medication. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed by this treatment.
