219 Restaurant

Great location. Lately the food has been hit or miss. The crawfish pie is not crawfish pie at all. It's very green, loaded with green onions, maybe even spinach? It has no real flavor and is not creamy or pie like at all, just dough, crawfish and greenery. The chicken and sausage gumbo is absolutely terrible. It was loaded with parsley/italian seasonings and had nothing of even a resemblance of a roux. this "italian soup" had terrible flavor. The cheeseburger wrap, which was previously creamy from the melted cheese, and flavorful, was dry and bland. The meat itself was light grey and did not look edible. We chose to trash it instead of walk back to the restaurant to return it. I will stick to creating my own salad if I try 219 again and hope they return to their previous practices, the food was much better. IN REPSONSE: I never said we had these two items in the same day. Myself and several coworkers tried the crawfish pie on separate occasions and agree that something has changed. The wraps were for a to go order at our office on another occasion (see the part where we threw them out rather than go back to the restaurant to wait for another order). I do agree this is a great little spot that has been around for a very long time, however things have been far from consistent, in my humble opinion, that is why I said something seems to have changed. My review is just that, a review of my experience, hopefully the owner can look at the feedback and use it in a constructive manner.
